About the format
AVIF is a new, very efficient image format based on the AV1 video codec. Browsers support it, but many photo editors, social apps and older devices don’t yet.
Frequently asked questions
Will I lose quality?
Converting to PNG is lossless. For JPG you can choose the quality: 90–95 looks identical to the original for most photos while keeping the file small.
Can I convert many files at once?
Yes, drop as many files as you like — they are converted one after another and you can download each or all of them.
Is it free?
Yes. All tools on Convert-All-in-One are free to use, with no sign-up, limits on the number of files or watermarks.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser, on your own device. Your files are never sent to our server, which also makes it fast and safe for private documents.
