How to use it
- Open your STL file using the box above.
- Rotate with the mouse or finger, zoom with the wheel or pinch.
- Check the size and volume, and save a PNG preview if needed.
About the format
STL is the most common file format for 3D printing and CAD. The viewer reads binary and ASCII STL, assumes millimeters (the standard for slicers) and lets you save a PNG preview of the model.
Frequently asked questions
Which STL files are supported?
Both binary and ASCII STL files. Large models with millions of triangles may take a few seconds to load.
How is the weight calculated?
The weight is an estimate for PLA plastic (1.24 g/cm³) printed at 100% infill. Real prints with lower infill weigh less.
Is it free?
Yes. All tools on ConvertNest are free to use, with no sign-up, limits on the number of files or watermarks.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser, on your own device. Your files are never sent to our server, which also makes it fast and safe for private documents.
