About the format
MOV and MP4 are very similar containers, so “Fast mode” simply repackages the video in seconds without losing any quality. If a player still can’t open the file, turn fast mode off to fully re-encode it to H.264.

Why is the first conversion slower?
The video engine (about 30 MB) is downloaded once and then cached by your browser. Processing speed depends on your device, because everything happens locally.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no fixed limit, but browsers have memory limits. Files up to a few hundred MB work well on most computers.
Is it free?
